About The Author

Inshal Aden

I’ve always been an introvert. That’s when I started playing with words putting them together, making them express my thoughts, emotions and all the pain that the cruel reality made me suffer from. I like creating meaning out of mere words. In this world full of chaos, my writings make me feel at peace. Everything I write could play as a stitch to broken hearts, tortured minds and torn souls out there. I pen down my darkest deepest thoughts trying to fix my scattered pieces together indicating my battle with life which I hope could inspire others suffering to do the same. I believe, it’ll give you strength if you just pen down your pain instead of keeping it within you, letting it rot your own existence.

The Book

Silhouette

Apparently, silhouette an outline intended to represent the shape of an object without revealing any visual details. But the reason I chose it is a bit metaphoric.

When a character is shown as a silhouette, that means that character is ”unknown”, mysterious, and a lot more than what people apparently see or think. Hiding all the dark emotions and thoughts within the depths of a soul is what this silhouette represents.

I loved it. Everything's written so perfectly and the emotions are described so nicely. It's like you've put the reality into words in such a good way.

The way everything is written is so amazing. I'm super happy and so proud of my best friend who wrote this book

I can use words to write a review but really they can never even be close to ones you've put together in your book. Immensely inspired by each and every poem. They're so beautifully written. All words touch the soul. Great thing is, from "monsters under my bed" to "crime" you keep the flow and meaning. "Monsters under my bed" is my favourite since the day you showed me it yet add "nostalgia" and "your lies" in my favourite list too.
And I pray you get healed from all the damage that I can see in the poetry.
Lastly, I'm so so proud of you for this masterpiece.

“Silhouette is a book a lot of us can relate to. Each poem leaves a mark to my mind. You can feel the emotions in every words, you can feel how she's been through alot yet still standing strong to show the readers her thoughts and feelings through these poems. I'm still in awe how brilliantly everything was written. 💖”
My personal faves are ‘The Evil Within', ‘Insomnia’, ‘Shallow’, and I really loved the line, “maybe that's what happens when a tornado meets volcano” in ‘My Feelings Rejected’. Kinda reminds me of the guy I used to like in during my uni days. Oh, my most favorite one is ‘Monsters Under my Bed’. I was so moved and had to re-read it a couple of times before continuing to the next page.

Silhouette is a book that describes our inner thoughts in a way we could never put in words. I love how the writer so confidently became a spokesperson for all the darkness in our heads and lets us get a glimpse of her own.
I really loved reading it, it's one of those books that you just randomly flip a page and enjoy the engulfing gloomy essence of what is written on the page.
So proud of you Inshal! You dark, yet such a bright human.
